Sunday Food

It has been a pretty huge food day... Glad I don't eat like this all the time.

It started modestly, with a shared platter of fruit, including cheap ass strawberries (we have a strawberry glut right now), crispy watermelon, rather bland yellow melon, sweet kiwi, tiny banana.

It was followed by 2 slices of bruschetta done the french toast way. I put chestnut paste over mine.

I had a cup of coffee at lunch time. This was at Bar Alto at the Powerhouse.

This is also at Bar Alto. It's gnocchetti in a pea and mint sauce. It was neither pea nor mint flavoured and needed some adequate salt and peppering.

The dessert was not much better, being 3 scoops of gelati for $9: burnt caramel (extremely tasty), rum and raisin and green apple. It was the smallest serving I have ever seen. Go to Pane e Vino in the CBD for a good portion.

For dinner, as it was the Autumn Moon festival, went out with the parents. We went to The Dining Room in Sunnybank. This is the free soup starter and a cup of genmai cha.

This is a seafood and tofu dish.

 Salt and pepper quails.

 Beans with a mince sauce.

Steamed whole fish, which my mother attacked the moment it landed, deboning the creature before I had dequailed my hands.

Black pepper steak - a bit chewy.

 Coconut jelly.

 Red bean syrup.

 More cups of cha.

My rosehip tea at home with honey.
